I chose to use the Federal Library and Information Center Committee’s (FLICC) FLICC Competencies for Federal Librarians because I was introduced to these standards during my internship at the US Department of State in the summer of 2013.
Competencies in the foundational category are Cognitive Analysis, Communication, are Emotional Intelligence. Functional competencies are Knowledge Management Methodologies and Specialized Subject Knowledge. Foundational competencies are basic competencies integrated with many functional areas and career stages. Functional competencies are aspects of responsibilities that define the profession.
I have chosen five competencies to showcase how my adroitness with the competencies link with my products and my core concepts and to illustrate how I have woven these skills into my work throughout my Master’s program.
